Travel.

19:35

Yes, I know. "Where have you been?" Is that what you are wondering? I know I have been distant from many social medias (some more than others) for the last couple of months, and it has all been due to schoolwork and travelling.
If I could give any of you one pinch of advise for this summer, it is to travel. You don't have to go far and spend a lot of money, but just get out and go somewhere out of your comfort-zone, go somewhere new, somewhere you've never been before and explore. Just turn off your phone and have the time of your life or even just the day of your life.
A couple of weeks ago I left my house to go out and travel and one of the places I went to was Granada. It isn't far from where I live, just about two hours to be exact, but still I had one of the greatest times and I can't wait to go again and I totally recommend to you or anyone you know to disconnect and get on a couple of hours bus journey (that only cost me 18 euros both ways) and just have a good time.

Here's a picture of me looking down at a river (with water in it) I state that due to the fact that where I live there aren't any rivers with water in and they are all as dry as a desert.

These are a couple of pictures from a bakery's we bought a fruit salad from to share and is was delicious.

This picture is the most tumblr-ish I am most proud of as I uploaded it to tumblr in a cropped symmetrical square and oh my god...

(The Castle of Granada aka Alhambra).

We had the loveliest couscous and croquetas for dinner at a old typical Spanish bar to the sound of people singing and dancing (I've got it all on a vlog).

These two last pictures are from the medieval part of Granada, I'm still not sure what part I loved more seen as all of it was very lovely and touristic.
If you would like to follow me round Granada on my vlog, check out my Vlog Channel and hopefully the video will be up there soon.
I hope you liked this weeks blog and hopefully I get back into a little "Blog Routine" again. Love youuuuuuu xxx

Out growing friends.

19:28

No, I'm not talking in terms of size or height, or anything physical. I'm talking about outgrowing personally, mentally or even emotionally.
Every type of relationship is a journey not a destination and as we change and grow as a person due to experiences or situations that life brings to us, sometimes, instead of bringing people closer, we push them away.
     The thing is, people change.
Out growing someone doesn't mean you are above them or better than them, it just means that you are in different stages of life.
I'll be the first to admit I've felt compromised into a relationship, either because of the past or because of the memories I've felt forced to forgive someone.
It is 100% OK for this to happen. However, for some the idea that your friendship with someone is not what it once was can be a sad prospect, maybe they saw you through a rough time and you appreciate it, but are they really worth it?
Let me just say, a few years ago, I had a lot of 'best friends', or even 'close friends', or 'friends I met through other friends' and so on. It made me feel good to have so many friends, because I could always go out, or meet up with someone. Eventually, this all began to change. Those who I concidered my close friends began to distance, everyone went there separate ways, they started changing, there was now the drunk friend, the angry friend, the friend that only texted me when they needed something, the hating friend.. I think you get the idea. I went through a period of self-reflection and asked myself if it was perhaps me.
Well, let me just say I was wrong. There was nothing wrong with me, I was growing up. Everyone gets to a point in life where they face decisions, and for some reason friendships are the most difficult. But for me, they weren't true friendships in the true concept of the word. Little by little I began cutting ties to people who no longer made sence in my life.
This year my priorities began to shift and I couldn't and wouldn't  let myself deal with bullshit no longer. In my opinion, the best thing of being self-aware, is you begin to see through peoples bullshit faster than ever. Unfortunately, most people aren't self-aware and refuse to accept their issues. But I, have made the conscious effort to keep the people that are good for me, close, and those who aren't, as far away as possible. I don't believe for a second that because I was once friends with someone they should still feel entitled to my friendship now.
What about you, have you been through anything like this? xx

Glorious winter walk through Mojacar Pueblo.

11:57

On Tuesday me and my parents decided to have a nice run out to Mojacar Pueblo. The start of the journey, was pretty good, the sun was shinning, and the views were beautiful.
My fist photo opportunity came as we drove towards Tabernas (where they used to come and film for the Spaghetti Westerns) when I saw a real life cowboy chilling out at the side of the road with his trusty steed.

We drove our way through Sorbas and wound our way through country roads to Turre where we stopped of to look for a bargain opportunity at one of the second-hand shops that is located there, only to find out it sold tea pots that looked to be stuck together with glue after being broken in 2468 pieces, and the dullest clothes from 1875.
We continued are journey for another half an hour to our destination, and it was just as beautiful as we expected with its up hill roads (that gave us a  brilliant leg work-out) and lovely views of both the mountains and beaches around us.

On our journey home my dad suggested a fish and chips and that definitely got our mouths watering and we jumped at the chance of a taste of England. It was all tasty and delicious at thought of it, and after a bit of Google searching and up and down the streets of Mojacar town, we found Zac's Plaice but unfortunately CLOSED FOR THE WINTER.

So as an alternative and another of my dads recommendations, we stopped at a road side bar, sun shinning on the terrace, customers chatting at the tables outside (didn't look too bad, mind you, almost everything looks better in the sunshine). My mums Carne con Tomate came, with lovely fresh bread on the side, everything looking hopeful until my burger arrived, expecting home made burger in fresh bun, fries on the side... Looked at it, touched it, smelt it, left it.

So saying this, next time we go out, I think I'll decide where we eat.

Thank you so much for reading, I really recommend you to view Mojacar if you have a choice, but choose where you eat carefully, and if you have done anything nice this winter holidays please write in the comments, I would love to hear.

Ps, if you ever get a rank burger, be braver than us and complain. Until next time, Ellie x
